On Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 at 1044 hours, Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department Companies 3 and 4 were dispatched to the intersection of Great Neck Road and Cuttermill Road for a reported vehicle fire. Chief of Department Pitzer (8704) was the first unit to respond and was advised of a confirmed vehicle fire by a member passing-by.
Tower Ladder 8744 was the first unit to arrive on the scene followed by Engine 8740, which responded from a gas leak on the other end of the district in Manhasset. A 1” ¾ hose line was stretched off of Engine 8740 and used to extinguish the fully-involved town car. Engine 8735 also responded and used their booster line to assist Engine 8740’s crew with a final wet-down.
All units were released from scene within thirty minutes by Chief Pitzer.
