On Thursday, March 29th, 2012 at 1650 hours, Manhasset-Lakeville F.D. Companies 3, 5, and the Ambulance Unit were dispatched to in front of 3003 New Hyde Park Road for a reported overturned car with entrapment. Deputy Chief Pisani (8702) was the first unit to respond and was advised by Manhasset-Lakeville Dispatch (870) that NCPD units were on scene confirming two trapped occupants in an overturned automobile.
Squad 8759 and Heavy Rescue 8730 arrived on scene, stabilized the vehicle, and then put their Hurst tools to work along with NCPD ESU. Members of the Ambulance Unit worked with NCPD EAB personnel to treat the trapped occupants during the extrication process. Both occupants were removed after about twenty minutes and transported to North Shore University Hospital. Chief of Department Dillon (8701) released all units after a half hour.
